The Buckland Time Capsule

September 2001 The
Committee decided to get the children of Buckland to design a publicity
poster. After judging, the winning poster would be used to increase awareness.
All entries to are to be placed in a time capsule to be buried in the Village
Green. 12
November 2001 Proposals
were received on time capsules. Howard Longstaff suggested an ammunition box
and Les Elson a shell case. The Clerk was expecting information on time
capsules and Archival protection. 14
January 2002 Information
on Time Capsules obtained by the Clerk was circulated and discussed. The
Chairman Councillor Les Elson volunteered to make up a suitable capsule from
plastic piping used for drainage with screw caps, made waterproof with thin
Teflon tape. The time capsule was duly buried by the Chairman Councillor Les Elson who chose not to reveal the exact whereabouts.
