Storm discharge is a mixture of rainwater and untreated sewage that is automatically released via storm overflows into rivers and watercourses. This prevents sewers from backing up and flooding into people’s homes.

Thames water has over 450 monitors in place to capture the date, time, and duration of storm overflows throughout the network, and now you can see their current status on a near real-time storm discharge map. Zoom in on the map to see local details.
