Rectory Lane (D317) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Rectory Lane (D317) Dorking that is
crossed by the Rectory Lane Level-Crossing for a distance of 25 metres either side.
The Order is required to facilitate –
(1) A new electrical connection works and/or utility maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm commencing 11 April 2023. There is no alternative
route for this closure; and
(2) To allow track works and/or utility maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 nights between the hours of 10pm and 6am on Mondays and Tuesdays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays commencing 24 April 2023. There is no alternative route for this closure.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commence on 11 April 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
For parts (1) and part (2) access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Whilst works are in progress vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will
apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
