Union Flag flying on village green

Buckland Flagpole

The Buckland flagpole was donated by Paul Rietchel for the Queen’s 2002 Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

As its installation was welcomed by residents, it was decided to retain the flagpole and to gratefully accept Paul’s offer to take on the role of Flag Warden. In May 2020, Alan Brindley, who lives within sight of the flagpole agreed to take on the role of flag warden for the 20/21 year.
